The Infamous Bail-out Of Fannie and Freddie

The Infamous Bail-out Of Fannie and Freddie

The Republican Party has contended for some 30 years or so that anything appearing to slant towards socialism is EVIL. Feed a hungry child "NO THAT'S SOCIALISM not with my dollar you won't". Universal Health Care "NO THAT'S SOCIALIZED MEDICINE, I want no part of that. Those without insurance are lazy and have too many kids anyway, why should I care about them!"... The "R" Party's collective mantra is a loud MAKE GOVERNMENT SO SMALL YOU CAN DROWN IT IN A BATHTUB. But when it comes to Corporate bail-outs, which is another name for Corporate Socialism QUICK PULL THAT GOV-GUY OUT OF THE TUB AND APPLY Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)... It's enough to blow your mind! I've put together some TV clips and article excerpts to illustrate the hypocrisy of our government. A short saga of the U.S. Bail-out of two mortgage giants Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. I guess the SHOW MUST GO ON.
thinkingblue

PS: Next time you hear an "R" person yodel "IT'S NOT OUR DUTY TO HELP THE POOR", and "WE WON'T STAND FOR UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE". Tell them to think about all the Big Bucks, Your Bucks, My Bucks, our government has spent, bailing out the many Fat Cats and see if they will then say "Socialism is a dirty word, it's EVIL!". Yeah, right, but only if you're POOR.

More on the Prosecution Of George W Bush For Murder

Vincent Bugliosi WebsiteI posted on youtube Vincent Bugliosi appearance on Democracy Now democracynow.org/

There he gave a broad list of reasons why our president George W. Bush should be prosecuted for murder. Due to time limits on Youtube, I was unable to post the entire broadcast but took from it, what I thought was most interesting. (hard to do since all of Vincent Bugliosi words are phenomenal)

Now videocafeblog has posted the Vincent Bugliosi's opening statements during the House Judiciary Committee hearing on the constitutional limits of executive power.

You Say 'Tomato', I say 'Tomato'...

AP: Food industry bitten by its lobbying success

More Bush Administration's HANDIWORK, to make you Sick, REALLY SICK!

Excerpt - Under pressure in 2003 and 2004, the White House agreed to dilute record-keeping proposals by FDA safety experts. "If the FDA had been given the resources and authority years ago that it asked for to solve these kinds of problems, I think we would have solved this already," said W. Hubbard, a former FDA associate commissioner. Tommy Thompson, who was health secretary during the industry's lobbying campaign, acknowledged that a more robust food-tracking system — opposed by business groups as too expensive — could have helped stem the current illnesses and business losses....

If something belongs or pertains to you, accept it. This proverb first appeared as “if the cap fits,” which may have referred to a fool’s cap. The later version has become more common and is associated with the glass slipper in the fairy tale, “Cinderella.”

Jail To The Chief

THE PROSECUTION OF GEORGE W BUSH FOR MURDER

CLICK HERE Bush and Cheney should be in HANDCUFFSWhen I first saw Vincent Bugliosi, talk about his book "The Prosecution Of George W Bush For Murder", I was blown away. This is not just another crackpot trying to sell his crackpot book, he is serious. Bush lied us into an illegal war and thus far, nothing, but words has happened to him and his crew. I have been feeling like I am not living in reality with all that Bush has perpetrated upon the people of this Earth. Yet, there is no one, not one group who will point a finger and demand he pay for his many crimes. Without a doubt, Bush, appears to be a man who IS above the law. Not only is he above the law, he gets help getting away with his transgression. (namely: the FISA vote).... We are, most of us anyhow, holding our breaths to see this contemptible human being leave the highest office, once and for all. But is that enough? Will we have peace then? Not a chance! I hope Vincent Bugliosi, one of the greatest prosecutors of our time, will not rest until he sees a Big Helping of Justice served upon one, George W. Bush.

Obama Bloggers To Forgive His FISA Vote.

A friend of mine (A Democrat convert, to Ron Paul's defunct bid for "R" nomination) wrote me the following on clipmark "The Thrill Gone For Obama Supporters?"
------
WAY worse than any little symbolic pin would by his vote supporting immunity for the telecoms and supporting all the more spying on the American people - clear violation of the 4th Amendment That should tell you that he is coming from the same love of executive power in support of corporate power over people power and considering rights dispensable for a greater "good." My response:
Judy, I know he caved on the (H.R. 6304 ) and that's a big deal but I won't cross him off my list... better Obama than McCain and I refuse to waste my vote on someone I know, without a doubt, will not win and perhaps will help McCain win (god forbid!)... Obama born to Muslim Martians and Wants To Tax Water.

Beware, the lies and smears are flying right to your in-box. The swiftboaters are having a ball, making all the naive, believe what THEY want them to believe. If you

thinkingblue.blogspot.com

The truth about Obama and Taxes

Lie:

A rapidly spreading email is tricking thousands—if not millions—of Americans
with outrageous lies and misrepresentations about Barack Obama's tax policies.

The email has taken a few different forms, but the most common subject line
says:

“Important read - Taxes INTERESTING DATA JUST RECEIVED ON TAXES”

The email starts innocently enough, but the warning signs are there: Spread the word.....

This is something you should be aware of so you don't get blind-sided. This is really going to catch a lot of families off guard. It should make you worry.

Then it goes on to distort Barack’s “Proposed changes in taxes after 2008
General election” including:

  • Capital gains tax

  • Dividend tax

  • Income tax

  • Inheritance tax

  • New taxes on things like water

Truth:

Barack Obama wants the tax code to favor honest, hard-working people, and he
has proposed a $1,000 tax cut for middle class families.

But that hasn’t stopped anonymous smear-mongers from starting misleading
rumors like this one.

According to FactCheck.org, a nonpartisan, nonprofit voter advocate group,

“This widely distributed message is so full of misinformation that we find
it impossible to believe that it is the result of simple ignorance or
carelessness on the part of the writer. Almost nothing it says about Obama's
tax proposals is true. We conclude that this deception is deliberate.
(emphasis added)

You can see the entire email—and the point-by-point debunking—on the
non-partisan, independent website FactCheck.org:

Hey believe this and I've got a
bridge and some swampland on the MOON to sell you!

Good Gobbly Goop, there are way too many gullibles in our country. Sometimes, I get a notion to post Something, Somewhere, ANYWHERE, on the Internet that is so outrageous and untrue that only a person living on the top of some mountain without any world information at hand and has an IQ of Minus 10 would believe. Just to see how breakneck fast it would go from computer to computer. Then sit back and hear, in unison the collectives shouts of the 'Uninformed" yelling, "I TOLD YOU SO, I KNEW OBAMA WAS THIS OR THAT AND A DIRTY WHATCHAMACALLIT! I just KNEW it to be true!" We sure are a nation of nincompoops (Well, too many for a so-called rich country, anyway.). It's scary, that so many of the "uninformed or informationally challenged" will go to the polls and pull a lever on a person who will become the most powerful in our Nation and perhaps, even the world, based on innuendos, rumors and negative hearsay of their opponents. What's even more stressful is
that not only they will have to live with the consequences but that rest of us
who possess half a brain, will also have to live with their boneheaded mindsets.

Just for fun, let's have another 8 years of Dubya and see HOW LOW WE CAN GO. !

Is The Thrill Gone For Obama Supporters?

Glow Fading?

The latest NEWSWEEK Poll shows Barack Obama leading John McCain by only 3
points.

What a difference a few weeks can make.

Click for picture's blog

Is Obama really fading? Well, I can't speak for anyone else but for me his glow has dimmed ever since he started wearing that silly flag lapel pin. All of these 7 plus years of living through the worst president the US has had at the helm, I could identify the enemy or should I say the Bush supporters by their Bush/Neocon fraternity pins. And I could direct my anger even before the Bushy sycophants opened their big bombastic collective rhetorical pie-holes and blather the some ole, same ole. So the flag label pin had become a symbol of pretentious superciliousness to me. Of course with his pandering to those who voted for Dubya and therefore help to ruin our country and make us a laughing stock all over the world (Remember the headline from the UK’s Daily Mirror: How Can 1,230,065 People Be So Dumb?) may have a little to do with the Obama Fade From Grace. But that PIN is all I see when this eloquent orator takes center stage and its glare has a blinding effect on the reflection of the man behind that "R" studded brooch... Also on clipmarks. The Redacting Of Thomas Jefferson

THE REDACTING OF THOMAS JEFFERSON

It looks like The Bush Team (with a little help from the Neocon speech writers) are Cherry Picking again.

(Cherry picking is the act of pointing at individual data that seem to confirm a
particular position, while ignoring a significant portion of related data that
may contradict that position.)

This time it's Thomas Jefferson's words that are on the chopping block... Bush sputtered, on the 4th of July, one of Jefferson's last quotes, to the few who still think 'HE'S DOING A GOOD JOB'. But he left out the following passage: "under which monkish ignorance and superstition had persuaded them to bind themselves"...

Interesting, that he chose to leave out such words. I wonder if he thinks, that's a bit too close for comfort, of what he thinks of his unquestioning followers. We must redact the quote, don't want to hurt our standings with the base... No big deal, after all that's what we do best... Redact, remake, alter, amend, change, modify, overhaul, redo and revise, "THE TRUTH", so it will fit nicely into our Neocon secret and devious plans. thinkingblue.blogspot

Bush ‘fixes’ Thomas Jefferson’s thoughts on the 4th of July

By: Steve Benen on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at 11:00 AM -

On Friday, to help honor Independence Day, the president
appeared in Charlottesville, Virginia, and hosted a aturalization ceremony at Monticello. Bush had quite a bit to say about the president who called Monticello home.

"The principles that Thomas Jefferson enshrined in the declaration became the guiding principles of the new nation. And at every generation, Americans have rededicated themselves to the belief that all men are created equal, with the God-given right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Thomas Jefferson understood that these rights do not belong to Americans alone. They belong to all mankind. And he looked to the day when all people could secure them. On the 50th anniversary of America’s independence, Thomas Jefferson passed away. But before leaving this world, he explained that the principles of the Declaration of Independence were universal. In one of the final letters of his life, he wrote, ‘May it be to the world, what I believe it will be — to some parts sooner, to others later, but finally to all — the Signal of arousing men to burst the chains, (deleted) and to assume the blessings and-security of self-government.'"

That’s very nice, but as Ed Brayton noted, it’s not quite what Jefferson said. Here’s the actual portion from the letter Bush referenced (thanks to R.M. for the heads-up):

“May it be to the world, what I believe it will be, (to some parts sooner, to others later, but finally to all,) the signal of arousing men to burst the chains under which monkish ignorance and superstition had persuaded them to bind themselves, and to assume the blessings and security of self-government.” [emphasis added]

Hmm. Jefferson’s actual sentiments weren’t quite what Bush wanted to say, so it looks like Bush’s speechwriters gave Jefferson a little touch-up.

War Vet Made Famous By Photo Has Died

Drug Overdose

The war was never over for Joseph Patrick Dwyer. He may have physically come home but forever mentally he would remain in the hell hole that Bush and his band of Neocons had created. With the wars suicide rates (Post-War Suicides May Exceed Combat Deaths) this war hasn't ended for countless troops who are back home. For many years to come, even if the next President can bring em all home (I'm not talking about McCain-McSame) many will suffer and die on their own turf. In that respect the Iraq war will never end, not for many years to come when there will be no one left on Earth who will remember this criminal war. And that is as sad as the war itself. How many more tears will be shed? thinkingblue.blogspot.com

Iraq Vet Made Famous By Photo Dies Of Drug Overdose

Posted: 06 Jul 2008 08:45 PM CDT

Editor & Publisher:

PINEHURST, N.C. A former Army medic made famous by a photograph that showed him carrying an injured Iraqi boy during the first week of the war has died of an apparent overdose, police said.

Joseph Patrick Dwyer died last week at a hospital in Pinehurst, according to the Boles Funeral Home. He was 31. The photograph, taken in March 2003, showed Dwyer running to a makeshift military hospital while cradling the boy. The photo appeared in newspapers, magazines and television broadcasts worldwide, making Dwyer became a symbol of heroism.

His mother said the military could have done more to help with post-traumatic stress. “He just couldn’t get over the war,” Maureen Dwyer said. “He just couldn’t do it. Just wasn’t Joseph. Joseph never came home.” Read on…

For Dwyer, much like the Marlboro Marine and the thousands of other nameless, faceless Iraq veterans who served in those hellish conditions, coming home was a nightmare. PTSD andhorrific suicide rates have plagued our vets, while the Bush Administration can’t begin to handle the staggering numbers and provide them with the mental and physical care they need. I guess these guys just need to suck it up and deal, right? CROOKS AND LIARS

Youtube Users and Viewers BEWARE!

Now every minute you Spend (as in $$$) on youtube, you are also feeding the Big Brother machine the Bush administration has robustly doctored until BB became a strong, very potent, bouncing baby, for the neocon belief system of freedom.

Their rule-of-thumb on freedom is, "We Will Tell Them They Are Free... FREE TO DO WHAT THEY ARE TOLD TO DO OR ELSE." All their doings has been leading up to this day... The beginning of the end of Lincoln's eloquent words used during his Gettysburg Address that afternoon on, Thursday, November 19, 1863 "government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." In just over two minutes, Lincoln enforced the principles of human equality supported by the Declaration of Independence and redefined the Civil War as a struggle not merely for the Union, but as "a new birth of freedom" (more here)

Hmmm, I wonder what President Lincoln would say about all the shredding of same Declaration by 8 years of Neocon Rule. I'm sure he would be deeply saddened, for sure.

YouTube Ordered To Release User Data

A federal judge in New York this week ordered the video-sharing site YouTube, the world's third-most-visited Web site, to release data
on the viewing habits of its tens of millions of worldwide viewers
Tuesday's ruling, which amounted to only seven paragraphs in a 25-page opinion
that was mostly about programming code and other matters, alarmed privacy
advocates, who said it ignored laws meant to protect peoples' viewing habits.
The order comes as part of a $1 billion copyright infringement lawsuit brought
against YouTube's owner, Google, by Viacom, the media company that owns large cable networks such as
MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon. Viacom alleges that YouTube encourages people to
upload significant amounts of pirated copyrighted programs and that users do so
by the thousands, profiting YouTube and Google.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Louis L. Stanton granted Viacom's request that
YouTube release its 12-terabyte "logging" database

Like I said, we won't need SCOTUS no mo'!

Like I said, we won't need SCOTUS no mo'! If just one more "R" gets on the Supreme Court we can all say TOOTLES to our civil liberties and HELLO to Fascism. This is not just an everyday alarm from an Alarmist, it's serious! The court is now in lockstep with the "R" ideology which protects & rewards the wealthy at the same time giving a nose-thumb at those who need help the most.

The kind of social order they (the R's) wish to spread across our land, is not a democracy!

Not with, cruel punishments for those who cannot pay their way out of a guilt accusations.

Not with, the melt down of habeas corpus.

Not with, holding a woman's body hostage and stripping her of her right to choose what's best for her body and her circumstances.

Not with, enforcing a law that a citizen must be in possession of Voter Id before they can cast their law-a-biding vote. (even in Iraq their only requirement to vote was to receive a PURPLE THUMB).

Not with, reducing or capping punitive damages to large corporations who will become even more reckless not having to face large losses to their beloved capital.

Not with, dismantling gun-control laws putting all at risks of being injured or murdered by the disgruntled and the disturbed who should never be allowed to possess lethal weapons. (that one is really mind-boggling because it flies in the face of Fascism or maybe NOT!)

Just remember one or two more "R" justices and you can kiss your, you-know-what Goodbye. Or at least until we plebeians can't take it no mo' and another revolution occurs. thinkingblue.blogspot.com

A Supreme Court on the Brink

the Supreme Court term that just ended seems muddled:
disturbing, highly conservative rulings
like voting rights and gun control,
important defenses of basic liberties in other areas, including the rights of
detainees
Guantánamo
most important decisions came on 5-to-4 votes
reminder that the court is just one justice away from solidifying a far-right
majority
that would do great damage to the Constitution and the rights of ordinary
The Supreme Court abandoned its
role in protecting voting rights
the court struck down parts of the District of Columbia’s gun-control law.
Corporations fared especially well in this term
The court reduced the punitive-damages award against Exxon Mobil
most cold-hearted decision, the court endorsed Kentucky’s use of lethal
