Another Notch In The NRA Belt

(Sons bear the sins of the fathers) In this case, the children bear the pain of an imbecilic, gun crazy, NRA society... How many more must die before we stop allowing the lobbies of the NRA to push laws that condemn us to live in an asinine gun culture where our children will and do die by the NRA's hateful ideology?

"We don't dial 911" What kind of macabre message is that to be so proud of, you hang it on your front door? His bumper sticker also is a tell all... proving he loves his guns over his family... No words can explain this type of illogical thought.

How Mitch McConnell Shamefully Cows to the Ignorant Ones in His Party

NPR's FRESH AIR
Excerpt: On how McConnell embodies the changes in the Republican Party over the past 30 years

McConnell, to me, embodies two things in politics today: One is the transformation of the Republican Party from a party that used to have quite a few moderate and liberal members and Northern liberal Republicans — Midwestern moderate Republicans — into a party that is now much more monolithically conservative and really Southern-dominated.
And To Me, thinkingblue, an internet IT hobbyist blogger, it embodies just how right-wing Politicians (sometimes left, just not as often) keep satisfying those who cannot critically think to save their life, who believe (through ignorance and fear) we need to go back to an archaic time that dates back to the dark ages. Today, when science is answering so many questions that were once thought of, as unanswerable. When 350 million miles from Earth there is the equivalent of a washing machine that can think, dropped on a comet by the Rosetta Spacecraft, with the help of human intellectualism and technology…
Can these right-wingers get any more laughable or dimwitted…? I have a feeling that somewhere in the minds of people like Mitch McConnell, (hypothetically) this nonsensical and backward way of thought will only survive if they do what Pol Pot did in Cambodia and that was to execute anyone who was perceived as having half a brain. If they could do that, they can stop humankind from moving forward and keep the world's societies, irrational, brainless and full of fear.

Excerpt: Anti-intellectualism is a common facet of totalitarian dictatorships to oppress political dissent. The Nazi party's populist rhetoric featured anti-intellectualism as a common motif, including Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf. Perhaps its most extreme political form was during the 1970s in Cambodia under the rule of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, when people were killed for being academics or even for merely wearing eyeglasses in the Killing Fields.

For Healthcare I Want The Republican Plan - GET SICK AND DIE!

Top Health News for November 20, 2014: FDA Adds Diabetes and Memory Loss Warnings to Popular Statin Drugs
First, the Corporate Personhood puts Trans Fat in all our foods. Then the Pharmaceutical Personhood prescribes Lipitor to counter the Trans Fat negatives in your body. Then Lipitor gives you type 2 diabetes and the Medical Personhood gives you Diabetes medication (Avandia) to counter the side effects from Lipitor…

Makes a lot of sense... Right?
I have concluded that I want the Republican plan for healthcare: GET SICK AND DIE! thinkingblue
---
EXCERPT: The popular cholesterol-lowering drug Lipitor is linked to an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, especially in women.
Lipitor (sold generically as atorvastatin) belongs to a popular class of cholesterol-lowering drugs called statins, which make up a major portion of all prescriptions filled in the United States each year. Lipitor plays a role in that popularity: It was the top-selling prescription drug in 2011, generated $7.7 billion dollars in U.S. sales for manufacturer Pfizer, Inc., that year. It remains one of the most widely prescribed drugs on the market.
Like all statins, Lipitor helps prevent heart disease and stroke by lowering the level of cholesterol in the blood. Recently, however, medical researchers uncovered new risks associated with the drug, including an increased risk for type 2 diabetes.
---
EXCERPT: The lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. are reviewing potential Avandia lawsuits nationwide against GlaxoSmithKline for failing to properly warn about health dangers associated with their diabetes drug, Avandia.
Thousands of users have suffered serious and potentially fatal injuries as a result of the Avandia side effects.

A Capitalistic Gizmo That Diminishes Freedom, Saves A Life

Each day, with a strong cup of wakeup elixir, I scan the headlines for an important news item to share with facebook friends and family, one that might spark an ‘over the fence’ dialog. (facebook thread aka string) Scanning the news is difficult these days and choosing an item is more so. Because of the personal nature, ‘In the Eye of the Beholder’ so the proverbial saying goes… What I deem interesting someone else might think nonsense and unimportant. However, with most of the headlines being so dismal, my personal nature shuns most of them, I don’t want to become even more cynical than I already am, about the human race, so I avoid reading anything beyond the headline. Here are a few bleak examples:
  1. Good morning, November 19, 2014, here are today's headlines: Death toll in Jerusalem synagogue attack rises to seven. Worshipers return to synagogue; Israel begins razing homes… (IMHO, Many babies and children are going to die again because of a couple of psychopathic killers… that is not what I call an EYE FOR AN EYE.)
  2. Senate Republicans block bill: NSA will continue monitoring your calls - Libertarian Champion, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul helped kill an NSA reform bill on Tuesday, despite his frequently voiced opposition to the NSA. (IMHO, Rand Paul made Hypocrisy a household word.)
  3. France has confirmed that a second Frenchman features in a video showing the beheading of Syrian prisoners, and the body of US hostage killed by Islamic State (IS). (IMHO, More psychopathic killers but these thugs video their carnage in order to brag about their atrocities. SICK!)
  4. New York health officials test person's remains for Ebola (IMHO, and spread fear)
  5. Missouri executes Leon Taylor for killing a suburban Kansas City gas station ... (IMHO, State sanctioned murder!)
  6. Six people, including a child, have died during the action at the Hisar ashram to arrest controversial sect leader Rampal, but the cause of their deaths is yet to be known, Haryana police said Wednesday. (IMHO, HUH?)
  7.  Man charged in fatal subway shoving in New York City (IMHO, Senselessness in a senseless society.)
  8. Why Republicans Think They Can't Lose a Showdown with Obama - Many in the GOP have, once again, convinced themselves that they've got nothing to lose from a government shutdown. (IMHO, More proof that GOPers do not care a whit about America)
--------
It’s a choice between extreme grotesque and utter unadulterated political hypocrisy. What kind of a choice is that? So when I came across this headline, which depicts how science technology, can and will make our world a bit less frightening. (Take that you science deniers!) Carlesha Freeland-Gaither fought off her attacker, (not allowing her fear to make her weak) which saved her own life.  And, with the help of a capitalistic gizmo that gives the sales industry, a tool that reduces a buyers dignity, a GPS that will not allow your vehicle to start if you happen to get behind in your payments. You had better hope you’re not trying to take your child to an ER with a life threatening injury at the time of shutdown… but in this case, it saved a life. What a story! thinkingblue

It Looks Like Paul Ryan Has Won After All!

It Looks Like Paul Ryan Has Won After All!

Thanks to all those liberal Democrats who stayed home on November 4th... This is what you did for the American 99%.
"The Ryan budget." Them's fightin' words. Democrats have long railed against the Republican blueprint by Mitt Romney's 2012 running mate, but they never really had to worry about stopping it. They may have to take it a little more seriously, now that Republicans have won control of the U.S. Senate and still hold the House. But if they play their cards better than they did in this year's midterm elections, this may just give them a renewed line of attack for 2016.

The House keeps passing Ryan budgets each year but so long as Democrats controlled the Senate, the proposals never really stood a chance of implementation, or debate, or even headline-grabbing veto threats. The last version of the plan by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin passed in April. It advocated about $5 trillion in federal spending cuts over a decade by revamping and constraining the growth of Medicare, and cutting healthcare, food stamps, education and farm spending. While Americans like concepts such as fiscal responsibility, polls since 2012 suggested there could be a backlash to aspects of Ryan's plans, especially to fiddling with Medicare.

Representative Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, said in an interview Friday that when budget season rolls around early next year, "it's kind of hard for Republicans in Congress to turn to their voters and say, 'You know that Ryan Republican budget we always pushed for? We weren't really serious.' So I think there will be tremendous pressure for Republicans to pass a virtually identical version, and with Republicans in control of the Senate it's hard to see how they duck that issue. Bottom line is, they're now firing with real budget bullets and I do believe their budget does great harm to lots of people in this country. It's going to be a wake-up call to the public."

Some of the key areas of partisan contention in any upcoming budget debate:

Medicare

Ryan's plan shifted Medicare, which provides health services to seniors, to a premium support model. It assumed the creation of an insurance exchange in 2024 where seniors could purchase insurance. Those who enrolled in the Medicare program before 2024 would have entered the existing fee-for-service model. Under that new system, seniors would choose between purchasing a private plan through the exchange or traditional fee-for-service Medicare. Seniors would receive subsidies to offset the cost of purchasing private coverage through the exchange. The plan would also institute means testing within Medicare programs, whereby wealthier seniors would receive a lower subsidy amount and low-income seniors would receive more. Insurers offering coverage through the Medicare exchange would have to offer insurance to all beneficiaries choosing to enroll in a private plan. The plan also assumes that the retirement age for Medicare would be increased to match the current Social Security retirement age of 67. Democrats have used the proposal in recent campaigns to accuse Republicans of undermining a promise to America's seniors and especially hurting those of modest means.

Space Exploration Anew - Rosetta/Philae ESA Project of Nov. 2014

We are entering an exciting period in Space Exploration, seeking answers to age-old questions, our intelligent species has been asking for thousands of years. Of course, during almost all of that time, there were no true answers to be had and humankind as intelligent beings had to make up fantasy stories to satisfy our fears and curiosities. But, this will be no more!
Time magazine had a great article on the recently distributed movie, Interstellar, which describes best what our species is experiencing during these exciting times of Space Exploration Anew.
thinkingblue

EXCERPT: Interstellar, Where No Movie Has Gone BeforeA new movie updates the Hollywood space odyssey with a fable based on factThere is no reason at all you should care about the universe. For one thing, it doesn’t care a whit about you.
It’s huge, it’s cold, it’s soulless. It’s possessed of forces that would rip you to ribbons the second you dared to step off the tiny planetary beachhead it has permitted us. it completely defies understanding, at least for anyone who’s not fluent in the language of singularities and space-time and wormholes and all the rest. But never mind, because we believe in it all–and oh, how we love it. Big cosmology has become our secular religion, a church even atheists can join. It addresses many of the same questions religion does: Why are we here? How did it all begin? What comes next? And even if you can barely understand the answers when you get them, well, you've heard of a thing called faith, right?
Like religion, cosmology has its high priests: Einstein and Hawking–people who, like Muhammad and Jesus, don’t even need second names. It has lesser priests as well: Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson–the great communicators. It has its storytellers too, none more powerful than those in Hollywood. And no moviemaker is currently more influential than Christopher Nolan, director of the coming-soon, don't-miss, shrouded-in-secrecy "Interstellar".http://time.com/3547827/the-art-of-science/

Who Knew? Feeding Hungry, Homeless People Is Against The Law

In Ft. Lauderdale, Florida that is... This short video tells of an insane ordinance the city council of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, saw fit to pass; making it an arrestable offence if you dare to give food to (feed) the hungry and homeless.
PS: I didn't want to make this political against the GOP and their Tea Party but after reading these paragraphs, I know now, that it is definitely a conservative stance or ideology.

Why is it Illegal to Feed the Homeless?

The City of Fort Lauderdale claims that they don’t want hungry and homeless people fed in public because they claim it will only keep them from trying to get out of the cycle of homelessness.  Of course, one has to wonder if the real reason might be related to the tourism trade that brings in big dollars to Fort Lauderdale.  After all, it seems that this latest ordinance to ban the feeding of the homeless in public is just one of the anti-homeless ordinances passed by the city fathers of Fort Lauderdale.
“Backed by the Chamber of Commerce, the recent city ordinance is the fourth law Fort Lauderdale has passed this year against the homeless. The other laws ban homeless people from panhandling at traffic intersections and outlaw sleeping or storing their belongings on public property. According to Pastor Black, the recent food-sharing ordinance passed after a long meeting past midnight after many people had gone home.
“It’s a pubic safety issue. It’s a public health issue,” Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler rationalized. “The experts have all said that if you’re going to feed them to get them from breakfast to lunch to dinner, all you’re doing is enabling that cycle of homelessness.”
(Sample Below)
PS2: When I was a child, I remember that grownups would tell us, kids "DO NOT FEED STRAY DOGS OR CATS!" when we would ask why, they told us that if we did feed them, they would never go away. Again, WTF! Those grownups are at it again but now they've included Human Beings, as well as stray dogs and cats.

A Sunday Go To Meeting Video Of Enlightenment

How pathetic America has become... This past election proves that there are too many people who claim citizenship here, who have not evolved intellectually much above the primitive ancestry from which we came. I wonder how much longer these non-thinkers will hold on to the reins of power... It can't continue for too much longer or our Flag and the Republic for which it stands... will soon crumble into a third world - (underdeveloped nations of the world, especially those with widespread poverty -- of mind and spirit along with deprivation of food and shelter).

Woman Uses Oregon's Death with Dignity Act

When are we as a society going to vote for people who will not put religion out there (in our face) as an actual ‘law of physics’ belief system? Religion should play no part in how people live their private lives. If you wish to believe in magic, that is your own business, you should not be able to force others to assume without proof that this fantasy is a reality, just because you want to make your mythical belief system, authentic. Hats off, to the Oregon voter for choosing to allow those who suffer without end, a practical and very personal outlet to terminate their agony, with the assistance of a physician. This is truly one of the many sad human conditions and should not, in any way, or form, be controlled by a religious dogma, unless one chooses it to be. thinkingblue

Christopher Hitchens: “Once you assume a creator and a plan, it makes us objects in a cruel experiment whereby we are created sick and commanded to be well, and over us to supervise this is installed a celestial dictatorship. A kind of divine North Korea.”

No Politicking In Space

The explosion of the Antares rocket, that was on its way to the ISS to deliver needed supplies to the astronauts working there, 205 miles up, was a devastating reality blow to space exploration and should wake us to the fact that we are, to some degree, trapped here on planet Earth by physics. Setbacks are inevitable because the laws of physics are intense but this can't stop us from forging ahead until one day we break free from this Earthly cocoon and can exist elsewhere amongst the stars.
Our world with all its, warring, conquering, politicking, pilfering and whatever else the human narcissistic animal can conceive to satisfy its coveted nature, turns life into a never-ending confusion from which there seems, no escape.
The analysis and understanding of the universe might be our only hope to become an altruistic species with a strong rapport for one another because we will realize that we're all in this together, living on one vulnerable planet, with nowhere else to go.
There I go again…
pondering that which will never occur.
