Repeal health care? Give up your own first!

CLICK HERE TO SIGN PETITIONSubject: Repeal health care? Give up your own first!

Dear Friend,

For 2 years, GOP leaders in Congress fought tooth and nail to oppose health care reform. They did their best to keep tens of millions without coverage, decrying any effort to help
citizens as "socialist," "fascist" or some other equally baffling "ist." And incredibly, they are now talking about repealing it.

Well, four brave members of Congress are calling GOP leaders on their hypocrisy, demanding they practice what they preach, and calling on them to give up their government-sponsored health care. And we couldn't agree more:

Write Congressman Boehner and Senator McConnell today. Tell them if they want to repeal health care, they need to practice what they preach, and give up their own government-sponsored health care first.

Please sign this petition. I did with this comment:

It is amazing how the conservatives manipulate their words and try to make us all believe their only interests is for the Common Good and America. When we all know in reality the truth is that they could care less about America and WE THE PEOPLE. Their interests are purely corporate, in other words what's good for the corporations is good for them. So the likelihood of such conservatives like McConnell, Boehner, et al who vow to make health care strictly a corporate commodity, voluntarily giving up their own government sponsored health care… Yeah right, WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER AND PIGS FLY! Their hypocrisy is so thick it's a wonder that anything else can fit into their small unthinking brains. thinkingblue

He's Back, Good Ole, Keith Olbermann is back on MSNBC!

HE'S BACK! Good ole, Keith Olbermann, is back on MSNBC!

An email from, Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC)

We did it! The president of MSNBC just announced that Keith Olbermann will be back on the air on Tuesday night!

This is a huge victory for the whopping 300,000 of us who signed the petition, which was delivered directly to MSNBC's president and reported on by many top news outlets.

Click here to sign the national congrats card to Keith -- and write him a note. We'll deliver it to him directly.

(Also, click to spread the good news on Facebook and Twitter. And pass this email to friends.)

It's clear MSNBC took notice of the public outrage. Progressives proved that when one of our own is targeted, we will fight back.

And Keith Olbermann knows what an important role his supporters played. He posted on Twitter: "Greetings From Exile! A quick, overwhelmed, stunned THANK YOU for support that feels like a global hug..."

Tell Keith what he means to you. Sign the national congrats card, which we'll deliver to him.

(Also, spread the good news on Facebook and Twitter -- and pass this email to friends.)

Thanks for being part of this successful campaign and for being a bold progressive.

My email to Keith Olbermann below:

Hi Keith, OMG, I am so happy to hear that you will be back up there on my TV screen come Tuesday night… When I had heard you were suspended I thought, HOW CRAZY IS MSNBC, TAKING DOWN THE BIGGEST VOICE OF REASON WE HAVE ON MAINSTREAM TV. Although, I do like Ed Schultz and Rachel Maddow, the main reason I pay extra for the MSNBC package from my Satellite provider, is YOU. If the powers that be, on MSNBC intended to throw you off the air for good, I was going to throwMSNBC off my TV for good.

We, the (as BP's Swedish chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg calls us) ‘small people’, have so little voice on the side of reason, that is why we fiercely need your voice, Keith. You speak for so many of us whose thoughts and words of logic go silently into the night (drowned out by the likes of tea partiers and such).

I am one happy ‘small people’ that MSNBC and its president Phil Griffin have come to their senses.

PS: I just came across this little snippet, From Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC:

“After several days of deliberation and discussion, I have determined that suspending Keith through and including Monday night's program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy. We look forward to having him back on the air Tuesday night.”

“APPROPRIATE PUNISHMENT FOR HIS VIOLATION…” Good Grief, who is Phil trying to kid? Poor old guy, he’s so, too big for his britches, he doesn’t even know how to SAVE FACE properly!

Phil Griffin's Kangaroo Court Suspends Keith Olbermann

Phil Griffin's Kangaroo Court Suspends Keith Olbermann

Attn: Phil Griffin MSNBC President:

If Keith Olbermann is not reinstated on "Countdown With Keith Olbermann", I am Canceling, MSNBC from my Dish Network Package.

Every night I look forward to watching a voice of reason (Keith Olbermann) on my TV. He gives me strength to go on in the crazy atmosphere of Nutty Politics that has gripped our country. The lies that are made up by those whose only motivation is to get the Republican Party back into power so the CORPORATEHOOD of the ROUNDTABLE can continue to reap the benefits THE PARTY OF NO has bestowed upon them.

Mr. Olbermann emphasizes Common Sense allowing his viewers to realize “I AM NOT ALONE; IT’S NOT JUST ME WHO FEELS THERE'S A MADNESS SWEEPING THIS LAND.”

It is appalling that the humanitarian efforts this man has championed are but a flicker (if that) in the eyes of MSNBC President Phil Griffin, who said without sorrow,
"I became aware of Keith's political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay."... Hmmm, I wonder where Mr. Griffin's political
affiliations lie?

MSNBC President Phil Griffin said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune's Phil Rosenthal that he hopes MSNBC can grow to be more like Fox News, but that he won't be putting any "hard-right shows" on his network. Griffin praised Fox News chief Roger Ailes for the television phenomenon he's created...

The Huffington Post reported that NBC News policy does not prohibit employees from donating to political candidates, but does require individuals making contributions to obtain approval from NBC executives before doing so. (So what is the crime here, to warrant such a punitive action as suspension?)

I won't call my Dish satellite provider right away but if Keith isn't back on the air within a reasonable time I am dropping the extra package that includes MSNBC. I won't have any incentive to watch because the biggest VOICE OF REASON is gone.
