STOP THE BUSH FINGER!

The Bush administration official in charge of making sure America is ready for a flu pandemic is a crony with no experience related to his job. Stewart Simonson is Assistant Secretary for Public Health Emergency Preparedness at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)—the Bush administration’s point man for a flu pandemic. But, Simonson has no public health management experience. He got his job because he is a close associate of former HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson. Will you urge that Simonson be replaced with a more obviously qualified person by signing our petition to Health and Human Services Secretary MichaelLeavitt?

BUSH IS GIVING US THE FINGER AGAIN!

I cannot believe we have another 'Brownie' selection
for Assistant Secretary for PHEP at the HHS. Are we going to have to hear
the President once again declare..."STEWIE, you're doing a heck of a job" as he stands proudly next to him, wearing his protective clothing and gazing out upon the millions of Americans who lay dead in the streets of our Nation from a Flu
Pandemic?

Then will we, those of us who are lucky enough to still be alive, have to endure a partisan panel or kangaroo court of Republicans questioning this Simonson crony about WHAT WENT WRONG AND WHAT WENT RIGHT…?

Great jumping jehoshaphat, this is so outrageous and so thoroughly loathsome it is hard to comprehend. This won’t just affect the lives of the poor, which the Bush administration so brutally displayed, days after the Katrina storm, they have absolutely no compassion for. This can and will touch on RICH, POOR, (mostly poor ) POWERFUL and POWERLESS (the powerless mostly) in other words ALL OF US!

There will be no room for MISTAKES FROM AN INEPT PERSONNEL… misjudgments will mean DEATH, not just hunger and destruction, plain and simple.

I wonder, sometimes, if this may be what Bush, his neocons and all his cronies may latently desire… As they also demonstrated after Katrina... getting the poor and some of the lower middle classes out of the way is sort of a good thing for this corporate run nation. There are just too many people who just don't have enough buying power, anyway.

I'm sure they, the privileged, aren’t concerned too greatly about their own health in peril because they know it will be they, who receive the first or even possibly, the only vaccinations and they, also, most likely, will have their own custom made bubble machines or protective suits to shield them from deadly infectious flu viruses. SHAMEFUL, to put it mildly… SHAMEFUL AND PITIFUL…AND SADLY IT WILL NEVER CHANGE AS THE BEAT GOES ON!

I don’t usually quote the bible but I feel this particular quote is so moving and so true:

But a poor Widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. If only, our government and its corporate friends could comprehend the true wording of this, we would all be the better for it but unfortunately, they only speak and understand the language of money.
