Hypocrisy at Notre Dame

Cardinal Francis George president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, said the group will work with Notre Dame to clarify what the university's responsibilities should be as a Catholic institution.

WHAT ABOUT THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES AS AN INSTITUTE OF HIGHER LEARNING AND THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES TO TEACH YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN TOLERANCE TOWARDS ALL FELLOW BEINGS??? EDUCATION WITHOUT OBJECTIVITY ESPECIALLY, IN INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING IS WORTHLESS!

Cardinal Francis George is urging Catholics "to call, to e-mail, to write letters" about the "extreme embarrassment" the University of Notre Dame has caused by inviting President Barack Obama to speak at its commencement next month.

But George acknowledged that the university is "not going to disinvite the president . . . no matter what you do."

Exactly what part of Notre Dame's responsibilities requires that it have President Obama deliver a commencement address or that it confer an honorary doctorate on him?
