7 years and Republicans, Still using 911 As Their TM
9-11: The people's tragedy not the Republican!
The Republican Party, stole the 9-11 appalling saga to further their neoconservative power agenda. After 7 years, they are still referring to it as something belonging to them. Vote for me and our country will be safe from another horrendous attack upon our soil. Vote for the other party and a violent infraction from some enemy will surely occur. We heard it solidly for the first four faux years of the neocon Bush administration, mostly to justify their illegal war. Now that Bush will soon sequester to the back pages of history under the subject, USA's worst presidents. Still, STILL, this party with NO shame, is using the tragedies of that infamous day in September 2001, when America was used like a stuffed leather bag, bludgeoned over and over again, to promote terror. They act as though they are saddened by the events of that terrible day but when they use it like a tool to get the power they so lust for, how can anyone believe their lament. Keith Olbermann, so poignantly put into words, how he feels, how I feel, how so many of you feel, the disgust and anguish we grip each time they use it as a prop.
At THEIR OWN CONVENTION, they used it AGAIN as a prop to bolster their standing amongst the American voters. A PROP OF FEAR! This party of disservice has no shame and they will go on and on lying, misconstruing and whatever it takes to keep power. They care not for this land that so many have died for. They live, breath and sustain only with one objective, to stay on the course of power whether or not they destroy the very thing they wish to control. It's time for all who THINK, who truly want the best for our country because we know it will belong to so many who will come long after us, to say ENOUGH! If this actually does not happen this election time around we may be a country so weakened by the avaricious blunders of the right-wing, we will become easy pickings for the power brutes of the world. Our epitaph will read... HERE LIES A ONCE POWERFUL, PROUD COUNTRY, BROUGHT DOWN BY THE UNSCRUPULOUS, WHO LIVED UPON ITS VERY SOIL, WHILE TURNING IT TO STONE. (Update Below Keith's Comments Video)

Keith Olbermann: 9/11 TM Special Comment
Keith was visibly upset after the GOP ran their 9/11 “tribute” ad during last week’s
convention. Tonight, that outrage manifested itself in yet another scathing
Special Comment aimed at John McCain and the rest of the 9/11 exploiting GOPers.
This is supposed to be a day of remembrance. Remembrance of the attack,
remembrance of the national unity which followed it. Most important of all, remembrance of the dead. But 9/11 has become…… a brand name. A Republican campaign
slogan. Propaganda of the lowest form. 9/11 has become… 9/11, with a trademark logo.FLASHBACK:
When those who dissent are told time and time again — as we will be, if not
tonight by the President, then tomorrow by his portable public chorus — that he is preserving our freedom, but that if we use any of it, we are somehow un-American…
When we are scolded, that if we merely question, we have "forgotten the
lessons of 9/11"… look into this empty space behind me and the bi-partisanship upon which this administration also did not build, and tell me:
Who has left this hole in the ground?
We have not forgotten, Mr. President.
You have.
May this country forgive you. - KEITH

Good "Heroine of the Cosmos", Palin has jumped on the bandwagon to link Iraq and 9-11. Even though, it has long been debunked and proven a lie given to the American population to support the Iraq threat so that neoconservatives could realize their pipedream of going to war with Iraq... thinkingblue

Speaking before troops bound for Iraq, Palin linked the Iraq war with the
September 11th terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, an
idea that has long been debunked and rejected.
"You'll be there to defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried
out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans," Palin said.
At one time, the Bush Administration promoted the notion that the Iraq war was
linked to the 9-11 attacks but the idea has since been dropped by even President
Bush. From: NCDem youtube channel

In today's 9/11/08-recruiting for al qaeda encore excerpt--Abdullah Azzam recruits teenagers and young men for Al Qaeda's battles in Afghanistan during the mid-1980s, taking full advantage of their vulnerability born of oppression and deprivation:
"It was death, not victory in Afghanistan, that summoned many young Arabs to
Peshawar.
Martyrdom was the product that Azzam sold in books, tracts, videos and
cassette tapes that circulated in mosques and
Arabic language book-stores. ... He told stories of the mujahideen who
defeated vast columns of Soviet troops virtually single-handedly. He claimed
that some of the brave warriors had been run over by tanks but survived; others
were shot, but the bullets failed to penetrate. If death came, it was even more
miraculous. ... Bodies of martyrs uncovered after a year in the grave still
smelled sweet and their blood continued to flow....
"The lure of an illustrious and meaningful death was especially powerful in
cases where the pleasures and rewards of life were crushed by government
oppression and economic deprivation. From Iraq to
Morocco, Arab governments had stifled freedom and signally failed to
create wealth at the very time when democracy and
personal income were sharply climbing in virtually all other parts of the
globe.
Saudi Arabia, the richest of the lot, was such a notoriously unproductive
country that the extraordinary abundance of petroleum had failed to generate any other significant source of income; indeed, if one subtracted the oil revenue of
the Gulf countries, 260 million
Arabs exported less than 5 million Finns. Radicalism usually prospers in
the gap between rising expectations and declining opportunities. This is
especially true where the population is young, idle, and bored; where the art is
impoverished; where entertainment--movies, theater, music--is policed or absent
altogether; and where young men are set apart from the consoling and socializing
presence of women. Adult illiteracy remains the norm in many Arab countries.
Unemployment was among the highest in the developing world. Anger, resentment and humiliation spurred young Arabs to search for dramatic remedies.
"Martyrdom promised such young men an ideal alternative to a life that was so
sparing in its rewards. ... And for those young men who came from cultures where women are shuttered away and rendered unattainable for someone without
prospects, martyrdom offered the conjugal pleasures of seventy-two virgins ..."
