BODY OF WAR - Phil Donahue's new documentary

This is a powerful film enlisting a "REAL" Soldier's plight to live a normal life after being injured in Iraq. His injuries, that left him paralyzed from the waist down, occurred after only 5 days of arrival in the land the Bush Cabal decided to invade. It's heart wrenching and inspiring. With songs written just for "Body Of War" by Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam fame). Tomas Young, the young man, the film focuses on (Rush Limbaugh's idea of a FAKE SOLDIER) is so courageous in his battle to maintain his sanity within a broken body. He represents all those who have sacrificed so much for the Neocon's idea of reality, while they (THE PNAC) themselves, forfeited nothing except for power. (which they still do not recognize as lost.) A must see movie for those of us who can see beyond the machismo delusions of war! Please watch the youtube presentation, showing a few scenes leading up to the birth of a magnificent body of work. thinkingblue

"I have a soldier for you.
Before the next president swaggers to the cameras challenging the enemy to "Bring it on," before the next Congress votes another War Resolution, my hope is that all these heavy breathing, lap top bombers take a moment to meet the First Cavalry's Honorably Discharged United States Army Specialist -- Tomas Young." BODY OF WAR - NO MORE WAR
"Body of War" is a powerful
argument against impetuous decisions, be they to join the military or to attack
a country, "Body of War" compares the dawning political consciousness of a
disabled vet with painfully extended footage from congressional debate on the
2002 resolution giving President Bush authority to invade Iraq. By documenting
the difficult life of their paraplegic subject, Ellen Spiro and Phil Donahue
succeed in personalizing some of the war's grim statistics...
Like men of another generation who enlisted after Pearl Harbor, Tomas Young
joined the Army on September 13, 2001, after seeing President Bush stand in
front of Ground Zero rubble and promise to hunt down those who attacked us.
He expected to go to Afghanistan in the hunt for Osama bin Laden, but eventually
found himself shipped off to Iraq
For about five days -- after which his unarmored vehicle was attacked, and an
AK-47 round pierced his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed.
