Reverend Asshole Of Lake City, Florida

The hateful tirade of excrement (below newspaper article) coming from the sociopathic mind of Reverend Huge (Asshole) Sherrill of Lake City, Florida, is what is wrong, majorly wrong, with religion. Spreading hate and judging others, using fairytale fables written by people who lived many years ago in a privileged sequestered existence of wealth and education, not knowing Diddly Squat about human survival… I am ashamed this local newspaper printed it, even though they used a disclaimer… (At the bottom) thinkingblue

Live Beyond Age 75, Maybe, Maybe Not...

(INTERESTING ARTICLE)
This guy (Ezekiel Emanuel) knows what he's talking about in my opinion (sort of) but given that he's 57 years of age right now, I'll bet anything he will change his mind in 2032 and become another cash-cow for the medical and pharmaceutical 'personhood' when he does turn 75... I hope not but living in a big money society ($$$$ for the few) with its advertising and fear mongering, tends to make people afraid of death, to the point that they will do anything, (even when it borders on torture), if they are told (by the puppet masters) it’s needed if he/she wishes to live another moment...

Please Let Me Live In Rick Scott's Florida

This article is the closest I've come to the feelings I get when I watch Rick Scott's Political Ads. Actually, I feel like throwing up, but then cynicism takes over (something I'm more comfortable with) and I think... HOW MORONIC DOES THIS ASSHOLE THINK WE FLORIDIANS ARE? Well, that scary looking man Rick Scott, thinks most of us are pretty damn stupid because in his 2peas brain, he sees himself quite a genius!!

Move Over East Germany (Stasi), Americans Are Now the Most Spied Upon.

Pour a bucket of Ice Water over that paranoia, we Americans will have to get use to the realization that our life is not private any longer. I'm not sure if being an American Citizen was ever private (Remember McCarthyism) but for sure it never will be again.
Live with it!
PS: So much for The Great American Experiment...
~~~
Americans Are The Most Spied On People In World History
More Spying On Citizens than in Stasi East Germany
In a radio interview, Wall Street Journal reporter Julia Angwin (who’s been one of the best at covering the surveillance state in the US) made a simple observation that puts much of this into context: the US surveillance regime has more data on the average American than the Stasi ever did on East Germans.
Indeed, the American government has more information on the average American than Stalin had on Russians, Hitler had on German citizens, or any other government has ever had on its people.
The American government is collecting and storing virtually every phone call, purchases, email, text message, internet searches, social media communications, health information, employment history, travel and student records, and virtually all other information of every American.
~~~~~~~~~~~Stasi
The Ministry for State Security, commonly known as the Stasi, was the official state security service of the German Democratic Republic or GDR, colloquially known as East Germany. It has been described as one of the most effective and repressive intelligence and secret police agencies to ever have existed.

One of its main tasks was spying on the population, mainly through a vast network of citizens turned informants, and fighting any opposition by overt and covert measures including hidden psychological destruction of dissidents (Zersetzung, literally meaning decomposition). It also worked as an intelligence agency abroad, the respective division Hauptverwaltung Aufklärung was responsible for both espionage and for conducting covert operations in foreign countries. Under its long-time head Markus Wolf it gained a reputation as one of the most effective intelligence agencies of the Cold War. Numerous Stasi officials were prosecuted for their crimes after 1990. After German reunification, the surveillance files that the Stasi had maintained for millions of East Germans were laid open, so that any citizen could inspect their personal file on request; these files are now maintained by the Federal Commissioner for the Stasi Records.

EXCERPT: Mass hysteria has reared its ugly head for as long as humans have existed. Adolf Hitler worked enough people into a frenzy to justify the murder of millions of Jews. Jesus Christ, known by all as peaceful, if controversial, was brutally nailed to a cross because a few high-ranking officials felt threatened by him. Although one would hope that people would learn a lesson or two from the mistakes of the past, it seems that history, as the old cliché goes, is forever doomed to repeat itself.

Words of Wisdom From 80 Somethings.

I subscribed to a terrific BlogSpot (Margaret and Helen Wordpress Blog) some time ago and never received a post in my email, until today. Actually I had forgotten how unabashedly candid these gals can be; I’m telling you, It will make your day. We, as a society have unfortunately developed an erroneous sense that old people have used up their seriousness in the art of Mind Speaking and should just sit quietly in the background. Whenever one, who is considered ‘long in the tooth’, tries to verbalize their extensive experience, they are called names such as "Old Windbag" “Over the Hill” “Lot’s a Millage” or Been Around The Block Too Many Times”.
Hey, listen up... Those Old Windbags who have been around the block many, many times, have a helluva lotta mileage left … They Ain't about to be stopped... You Go Girls.
Today's blog from:
FROM HELEN: Margaret, I seem to be all over the map these days.  Presidential politics, Texas politics, the immigration debate… But if I am going to be so stressed about politics, I need to balance things as I have always done…with food.  And I know what people reading this are saying already: How unhealthy.
Really?  That’s what you say to someone well into her eighth decade? I’d say I’ve beaten those odds.  And you all should see how much pie Margaret eats… and she’s thinner than a silver dollar.  She looks like a zipper when she sticks out her tongue. Plus, she's so tall if she fell down she would be halfway home.  I love you honey, but eat a potato chip every now and then.
Listen, I’m fat because I eat pie and think I get enough exercise just pushing my luck.  I could stand to be a little healthier in my habits.  But I know we would all be a little happier if at least one meal a week tasted good enough to be bad for you.
Speaking of bad for you… These nuanced presidential press conferences about ISIS have got to stop.  No one wants to hear that we are going to systematically degrade ISIS and ultimately defeat them.  Tell us that we will wipe their sorry asses from the face of the earth and then go back into the oval office and work with your generals to begin the systematic degrading.  Mr. President, you are too smart for your own good.  This is America.  You need to add a little bacon to your green beans.  They’re less hard to swallow that way.
And speaking of hard to swallow, Texas politics is full of more wind than a corn-eating horse.  I’m speaking, of course, about the latest television commercial from Greg Abbott, or as I like to call him – that guy in the wheelchair.   And I know what everyone is saying now:  How insensitive.
Really? That’s what you say to the fat old lady in a wheelchair?  At least I’m not using my disability to garner votes.  When you watch that ad, it’s kind of hard not to see him as the guy in the wheelchair.  But hey, whatever works.  Right?
Although, here is what the ad doesn’t tell you:When Abbott was still in law school, he was jogging through a wealthy neighborhood in Houston and an oak tree just fell right on top of him. I’m not foolin’. It was a freak accident that put him in a wheelchair for life.  Tragic.  Just tragic.  Now, Greg did what lots of folks would do: He sued the homeowner… and a tree company. In addition to claiming medical expenses the lawsuit included non-economic damages including mental anguish and physical impairment, as well as the reduced capacity to work.  His settlement which still gives him monthly payments, amounted to more than $10 million, tax-free. Well I say, good for him.  I’ve got no problem with using the courts to right a wrong.  Of course, Greg seems to have changed his mind now that his day in court is over.  He’s built a career on making it harder for other Texans to sue their wealthy neighbors as he had done.
As a justice on the Texas Supreme Court, Greg supported limiting non-economic damages such as mental anguish.  He helped pass laws that limit the amount others can now sue for.  As Texas Attorney General, that jackass even tried to strike down the portion of the Americans with Disabilities Act requiring equal access to public buildings.   When questioned, he told reporters, “Because I filed a claim of my own, should I forever be foreclosed from criticizing frivolous and abusive lawsuits?”   This from the guy who has sued the federal government 27 times – 20 since Obama has been in office.
What’s good for the goose, is not good for the gander on Greg’s farm.   In today’s Texas, Greg would be the much less wealthy guy in the wheelchair – probably suffering from the mental anguish of having been cut down in his prime with no avenue to make it right. That’s politics for you:  Full of assholes in and out of wheelchairs.
So to let off a little steam, here is a recipe for some food that might not be good for you, but will sure as hell make you feel better:
Take an eggplant, peel it and cut it lengthwise into thin slices – thin enough to roll up.  Dip each slice in some buttermilk and then dredge it through some flour.   Shake off the excess flour and then sprinkle with some salt and pepper.  Make up a batch of goat cheese mixed with some roasted garlic, oregano and basil (or cilantro).  Don't worry about quantities.   Your mouth is there for tasting.  Add your favorite spices as you desire.  Measuring spoons are pointless unless you are baking.  Drop a spoonful of the cheese mixture on one end of each slice of eggplant.  Roll it up so the cheese mixture ends up in the middle of your roll.  Heat up some vegetable oil (or better yet, bacon grease) in a heavy frying pan. Fry the eggplant rolls until they are golden brown all over.  Top it off with your favorite tomato sauce – I make mine from scratch but a jar will work too.
Now, turn off the TV. Pour yourself a glass of wine and if you didn’t take my advice about the bacon grease you can call yourself a vegetarian.   Oh… and if you happen to live in the great state of Texas, come November, vote for Wendy Davis.  I mean it.  Really.
 FROM MARGARET:Helen, dear, the only thing that could improve your little eggplant recipe would be to follow it up with a great big slice of pie. Any kind will do. Life is full of questions and pie is always the correct answer. PIE NOW, PAY LATER!

The Invisible Ones

No one knew about Maria Fernandes' struggle to survive in the harsh reality of a conservative ideological stronghold on the subconscious of America’s hoi-polloi. Since Ronald Reagan’s’ Boot Strap’ revival, people of low (or no) income have been sliding fast into despair, living on a sure-fire pitiful pittance from working as many as one, two or more low wage jobs. Trying to come up with enough honest ‘sweat of the brow’ scratch to live the old worn-out cliché ‘A Roof and Food Upon A Table’.  No one knew or cared until Maria Fernandes was found dead in her car trying to get some needed sleep that might have given her enough energy to go on to her next low-wage, part-time job.
I swear, the next time I hear some Fox News, indoctrinated conservative, boot-strapper, utter the phrases of a Ronald Reagan’s Rose Colored Glasses World about the poor and the working poor… ( i.e. welfare queen driving her Cadillac, and the “strapping young buck” using food stamps to buy T-bone steaks)… I’m going to HOWL some pathetic immature words at them like:  Butt-face, Meany-head, Meany-face, Butt-head and poop-squat and then walk away feeling an overwhelming sorrow for their pitiless and hateful outlook on life and those in need. thinkingblue
PS: I wish there was something more, I could do beside childish name-calling, to show the "R" types that following today's far right-wing (Fox News) ideology is not conducive to their own Christian Ideology but I can't. Therefore, I'll just keep blogging and making videos that perhaps might or will convince one or two of them to sit up and say... Hey, what am I doing, what am I saying, what am I thinking...? The Liberals are and were right all along.
(I still dream after all these years)
Ronald Reagan loved to tell stories. When he ran for president in 1976, many of Reagan’s anecdotes converged on a single point: The welfare state is broken, and I’m the man to fix it. On the trail, the Republican candidate told a tale about a fancy public housing complex with a gym and a swimming pool. There was also someone in California, he’d explain incredulously, who supported herself with food stamps while learning the art of witchcraft. And in stump speech after stump speech, Reagan regaled his supporters with the story of an Illinois woman whose feats of deception were too amazing to be believed.

“In Chicago, they found a woman who holds the record,” the former California governor declared at a campaign rally in January 1976. “She used 80 names, 30 addresses, 15 telephone numbers to collect food stamps, Social Security, veterans’ benefits for four nonexistent deceased veteran husbands, as well as welfare. Her tax-free cash income alone has been running $150,000 a year.” As soon as he quoted that dollar amount, the crowd gasped.

Four decades later, Reagan’s soliloquies on welfare fraud are often remembered as shameless demagoguery. Many accounts report that Reagan coined the term “welfare queen,” and that this woman in Chicago was a fictional character. In 2007, the New York Times’ Paul Krugman wrote that “the bogus story of the Cadillac-driving welfare queen [was] a gross exaggeration of a minor case of welfare fraud.” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews says the whole thing is racist malarkey—a coded reference to black indolence and criminality designed to appeal to working-class whites.

More than three quarters of conservative Americans - those in the steadfast conservative, business conservative, and young outsider typology groups - agree that "poor people have it easy because they can get government benefits without doing anything." Only seven percent of steadfast conservatives say that the poor "have hard lives."

Yes, thar’s Big Bucks in them dollars but not for those of us who BUY all The Corporate-Personhood's crap that’s made in the slave labor camps of China and elsewhere!

MORE HERE: http://americasmarkets.usatoday.com

PS: The Audacity! The Dollar Tree in our neighborhood has the CHUTZPAH to ask its customers to buy their crap and donate it to the poor children of the area… They don’t offer to match it ( you buy an item and we, Dollar Tree will donate the same)… Then when they give it as charitable contributions… THEY TAKE THE CREDIT FOR IT.  This way, they profit from the ‘coerced’ sales and claim to be philanthropists at the same time… SICKENING!
