Why is Peace not popular?

This is a perplexing question I know, but is it really? It seems to me that war never benefits anyone, just maybe the corporations eager for profits that warring will fortify. Most people suffer and are devastated by war. Wouldn't it be a nicer world if war was never an option? No matter who was doing the saber rattling. When such a country displays a maddening eagerness to start one; The rest of the global community ostracizes this nation, rendering it isolated from any rewards until it comes around to a peaceful solution. Doesn't that sound so simple and applicable? Will it take a nuclear war to arrive at this simple solution? It seems that is what it's going to take for our world to become peaceful. Destroy it first then pick up the pieces and start again.

Bush/Cheney Pot calling the Kettle black!

Anniversary of ’05 Uzbek Uprising

The Bush/Cheney Neocons would have loved patterning the USA after the repressive government of Uzbekistan but thanks to our constitution (although, a bit tattered from the last 8 years) for not allowing them this fantasy. With all their criminal efforts they have rendered America as the Pot and Uzbekistan the Kettle. The charred blackness which is on the Pot; doesn't see the black on himself and calls the kettle black! thinkingblue.blogspot.com
Excerpted From Article:
But this is Uzbekistan, a repressive country where laws mean little, rights are relative and torture is endemic...

After criticism from Wash., Uzbekistan ejected the U S from a military base that was supplying the war effort in Afghanistan. How much influence should the US try to exercise — if any at all — over another country’s behavior? And will that country be receptive, given the abuse, indefinite detentions and closed tribunals that have been part of the United States’ record in recent years?

Have you heard, Bin Laden is Dead.

Someone, from thethinkingblue channel messaged that Osama has been dead since 2007: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWcw2OEyhXI

Youtube member message: "Osama Bin Laden was murdered in December/2007 by Omar Sheikh. and of course Bush should be elated about that but why should he care,his lies covered his ass..."

I asked myself:
What? Bin Laden Dead? This is news to me... The usual He's Dead, He's Alive, chatter is all over the Internet. There is even an account that he has been dead since 2001.
http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/osama_dead.html But you hear not a peep on TV.

I think if he were truly pushing up daisies or whatever dead people do in other countries; there would be more commotion about it, maybe NOT. The symbolic nature of his being alive would be of benefit to the so-called war-on-terror pundits and also for the Al Qaeda type terrorist groups... And they say you can't beat a dead horse! ...
thinkingblue.blogspot.com

Bin Laden's voice was detected regularly until [14 December 2001] by
intelligence operatives monitoring radio transmissions in Tora Bora, according
to the Pentagon [details]. Since then, nothing has been heard from the
al-Qa'eda leader and President Bush has hinted in private that bin Laden's
silence could mean he has been killed. [Telegraph, 12/28/2001]

Osama bin Laden is dead. The news first came from sources in Afghanistan and
Pakistan almost six months ago: the fugitive died in December [2001] and was
buried in the mountains of southeast Afghanistan. Pakistan's president, Pervez
Musharraf, echoed the information. The remnants of Osama's gang, however, have
mostly stayed silent, either to keep Osama's ghost alive or because they have no
means of communication.

ATTENTION:FOX NEWS - FIRE LIZ TROTTA

Liz Trotta, may think assassination is funny but most people DO NOT! Most people, are appalled that we live in a world where people are shot, maimed, blown up or mutilated because they are trying to create a better place for mankind. Our country has gone through some grievous times with the assassination of a president, the shooting of another president, the murder of a man of peace who's passion was to see that all people get what the constitution awards, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and a bullet to the head of a man campaigning for the highest position of the land while still grieving over his own brother's murder.

We still haven't completely healed from all the wanton destruction this country has encountered. For someone to go on the airwaves, the people's airwaves and joke about an execution type slaying of Barack Obama is loathsome to no end. If she is allowed continued TV appearances by simply uttering a little unrepentant apology, none of us should stand for it.

Fox news should be shut down as an insult to decency and democracy. I hope everyone with moral, and ethical wisdom will sign this petition. Follow this link to sign: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/fox-news-has-to-sack-liz-trotta

WIN AT ALL F**KING COST

BITTER POLITICS
April 24, 2008
So here we are again. As has been the case so often this primary season, weeks spent eagerly anticipating some "decisive" result gave way to an election night that merely returned the race to its torturous equilibrium. Six weeks ago polls showed Hillary Clinton up by nineteen points in Pennsylvania. As he has in nearly every state, Barack Obama closed the gap, improving on his performance in Ohio among whites and older voters--but not by enough.

If neither candidate's chances of winning the primary was changed Tuesday, something else was. The six-week grind to April 22 featured a sustained descent into what Obama rightly called "the distractions and the silliness" that trivialize serious issues. Instead of scrutinizing the candidates' Iraq exit strategies or economic recovery plans, the press ran endless loops of a few truncated moments of Reverend Wright's sermons, images of Clinton on the tarmac in Tuzla, Obama's "bitter" comments. It all culminated in the infamous "debate" on ABC, whose moderators spent the first fifty-three minutes lingering with prurient seriousness over such details as Obama's lack of a red, white and blue lapel pin.

But it wasn't just the media. In a recent Sunday talk-show appearance, McCain was eager to delve--unprompted--into yet another discussion about Bill Ayers, while Clinton invoked her affinity for her small-town brethren by recounting her girlhood shooting lessons. In other words, multimillionaire McCain, the millionaire pundit class and the millionaire Clintons all spent the last weeks waging a culture war against a man who spent most of his career organizing in or representing the South Side of Chicago. It was enough to make one cling to religion.

What was so dispiriting about this spectacle wasn't its nastiness. Politics in a democracy will always be rancorous; it's the nonviolent means we've established to referee conflicting interests. No, it was the sheer staleness: the run-up to Pennsylvania was dominated by the umpteenth iteration of a clash of fabricated caricatures. On one hand, the out-of-touch, pointy-headed, anti-American intellectuals, with their airs and condescension and contempt for the heartland, and on the other, our mythical hero: the God-fearing, gun-toting, patriotic, salt-of-the-earth reactionary.

It's Nixon's "silent majority" all over again, a category he constructed in order to fence the left into minority status. That the mainstream media have adopted these fictional categories is maddening but par for the course. What isn't par for the course is Clinton's contribution to this effort, her unabashed leftbaiting of her foe and her adoption of the vocabulary of backlash conservatism in order to paint the likely Democratic nominee as tainted by his associations with radicals. These tactics threaten to undercut a progressive rationale for her candidacy.

The irony is that Clinton has succeeded in doing what Obama could not. By tirelessly flogging these invented scandals, the Clinton campaign has given concrete substance to what had formerly been airy and abstract pronouncements from Obama about the need to get past "the old politics." Watching the last few weeks of the campaign unfold, one couldn't help but think: Yes, this is broken. This does need to change.

When this primary season began, we cheered the grassroots spirit that had pushed Democratic candidates in a more progressive direction. If the Clinton campaign continues its slouch along the low road, that promise will be severely damaged, as well may be Democrats' chances for victory in the fall. Voters and superdelegates now have to ask, at what cost is Clinton willing to continue this fight?
~~~
AT ALL F**KING COST. She keeps it going and she keeps it dirty. I am ashamed that I once thought of her as great. A champion for all! Not only is she behaving badly, she is reckless. Just so she can actualize her plans to become the world's most powerful player. She has only 2 causes, Hillary and Bill. thinkingblue
Is Hillary now suggesting Ass-ass-ination to win?
I just heard this on MSNBC... What? This is so bad, it's way beyond the pale. It's an action that is so outside the limits of acceptable behavior, quite UNACCEPTABLE AND IMPROPER! Borrowing a line from The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens, dated 1837: “I look upon you, MADAM, as a WOMAN who has placed HERSELF beyond the pale of society, by YOUR most audacious, disgraceful, and abominable public conduct”. Hillary if you don't quit the race now, you will forever be seen as a soiled and besmirched politician within your beloved career of politics! thinkingblue.blogspot.com
May 23, 2008 --
Hillary Clinton today brought up the assassination of Sen. Robert Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against Barack Obama.
"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out.
Clinton made her comments at a meeting with the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader's editorial board while campaigning in South Dakota, where she complained that, "People have been trying to push me out of this ever since Iowa."
Robert Kennedy, the younger brother of President John F. Kennedy, was gunned down in 1968 after winning the California primary. He had been a hero on the left for his civil rights agenda and calls to end the war in Vietnam.
What Part Of Ending The Occupation Now Don't They Get?
This last week, the House failed to approve yet another 163 billion dollars in war profiteering, as pushed by Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, but ONLY because so many of you spoke out, that and because 132 Republican perversely voted "Present". Now the battle shifts to the Senate, where we need your voice to prevail there as well.
Stop It In The Senate Action Page:
What Part Of Ending The Occupation Now Don't They Get?
This last week, the House failed to approve yet another 163 billion dollars in war profiteering, as pushed by Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, but ONLY because 132 Republican perversely voted "Present".
How is it that still Congress is not listening to the overwhelming majority of the American people who want the indefensible occupation of Iraq to end now? This historically arrogant strategic blunder has done nothing but inflame hatred for America throughout the Muslim world, and has propelled oil prices to stratospheric levels, by destabilizing the entire region.
Yes, we stopped them this time. But to put a final end to it once and for all we need even more people to speak out. We need your voice to contact your Senators yet again, until they finally get the message, that only you can send as their constituents.
The one click form below will send your personal message to all your government representatives selected below, with the subject "No more Iraq occupation funding." At the same time you can send your personal comments only as a letter to the editor of your nearest local daily newspaper if you like.
thinkingblue's note to the senators:
How much longer must this illegal, extortionate war in Iraq go on? There has been so much damage caused by this war ranging from the loss of influence to the United States of America, around the world, to the endless casualties of Iraqi citizens. Totals (Especially from the Pro-war, Pro-neocons) are estimated at 84,050 to 91,713 but these figures, although quite shocking, are not the true estimate. A study in 2006 assesses the loss of life at over 655,000 Iraqis or more than 500 people a day (A report, which of course, President Bush does not consider credible.). That would mean, every single family most likely, has suffered a loss in this war.
Natural disasters that are inundating the news today, such as in Myanmar, where deaths from Cyclone Nargis stands at about 78,000 but the number will be higher, since another 56,000 people are still missing. And China's death toll from last week’s earthquake in southwest China has risen to 51,151, with 29,328 still missing. Alarming numbers but still dwarfed by the Iraqi totals. The world is reaching out to these natural disaster victims but in contrast no one hardly turns a head towards helping the people of Iraq and why should they? When the USA government is still approving Billions of dollars to PERPETUATE the war not end it. Sending aid $$$ to Iraq is like SPITTING IN THE WIND! How can anyone help a devastated country of people when a government (who appears to the world as militaristic) continues the devastation and ruination by financing and keeping troops there?? Stop the funding and start the healing! I'm not so naive as to think all will be on the mends once, the USA withdrawals their troops. But, as long as they are there, the mayhem will continue, making recovery impossible. Now tell me, you people who hold the purse strings and are in control over so many lives, DOES THAT MAKE SENSE TO YOU?
IGNORANCE RULES!
IGNORANCE RULES?
Read article here.
I am so tired of hearing how the ignorant population rule. The real question should be... Why are so many Americans unknowledgeable? In today's world, that is beyond a disgrace, especially in a rich country. Leave no child behind, MY FOOT!
Hillary has lost so much respect, because of her winning at all cost, strategy.
She is playing with those who possess little ability to decipher the information
hurled in all directions, so afraid their fragile reality will topple if truth is exposed to them. Playing with them the same way big balls mcgraw, Karl Rove did and still does. She's even (sort of) flirted with the likes of Rove!
Are we, once again, going to have a president elected by the unenlightened and unread? Those in the Hillary political category are banking on it. But I, for pity's sake, sure as hell, HOPE NOT!. No joke, we can't afford it to happen
again, our very existence depends on it!! thinkingblue.blogspot.com
AC-CENT-TCHU-ATE THE POSITIVE is a song made famous by Bing Crosby in the
1940's. So many of these great oldies but goodies seem to fade away with each
new generation. They will forever disappear unless someone pulls them out of
obscurity and dusts them off to use in a modern realm...
Please watch this video on how Fox News and other right-wing media organizations
have infiltrated our rationality. Forcing us to question our reasoning...
Hopefully, with the changing of the Neocon/Bush administration, these right-wing
hate talk shows will become totally uninteresting and end.
with a cessation of the blabber mouths such as Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh,
who shove our collective minds into a small dark box of hate, we will be able to
return to wholeness.
Some of the nasty comments on thethinkingblue channel illustrate how sad we Americans are as a people. There is so much ignorant hatred bristling, that a complete coming together as one commonality is almost impossible.
Barack Obama is our only hope. He can soothe the pain of hatred and rage by not embracing it like so many other political bodies have (yes even Hillary Clinton stooped so low) and he will demonstrate to us, through example that we really can come together as one. YES WE CAN!
BEWARE! Biofuels Causing Food Crisis To Worsen!
Beware!
Biofuels Causing Food Crisis To Worsen! It's a sad, sad world.
There are many articles, news items and whatever tickles your fancy, that will give you information about how biofuels such as corn, are creating (or not creating) a hunger crisis. It's enough to make a grown man or woman cry. I know I've cried more than once on seeing hungry human beings filmed in all their
emaciation ... (I could never figure out... if they can get cameras out there to these poor folks why the hell can't they get food to them??... but that's just
an idiosyncrasy of mine.) Anyway, there's a chart that tells you exactly which food or plant crop can more accurately help us get those needs we've become accustomed to. Like going from point A to point B and keeping our buns warm or
cool, etceteras, without causing starvation to others. You'll find the chart by following this link:
Hillary's loose lips will sink ships!
In her preoccupation to clinch the Democratic nomination Clinton, doesn't even try to curb her attempts at machismo. (Article: Iran files protest at UN over Hillary Clinton's 'obliterate' comment)
Hillar's loose lips will sink ships. I can just hear her loose lips mimic Dubya's, "Bring em on!"...
According to politicians like Hillary WE THE PEOPLE are all just a group of ding-a-lings...
(This phrase was coined as a slogan during WWII as part of the US Office of War Information's attempt to limit the possibility of people inadvertently giving useful information to enemy spies. The slogan was actually 'Loose Lips Might Sink Ships. This was one of several similar slogans which all came under the campaigns basic message - 'Careless Talk Costs Lives'.
McCain's Gaffe - 100 Year War For Oil
Isn't it amazing, anyone who said the 2003 Iraq war was actually waged because of our need and dependency on oil, was labeled unpatriotic or worse UN-AMERICAN. Now today, while into the 6th year of this sick, preempted illegal war, Republican presidential hopeful, JOHN McCAIN, is publicly... touting that same message. The hypocrisy is so palpable you can smell the foul odor of it.
thinkingblue
---
It wasn't that long ago another sweetheart of the Republican party mentioned this:
America's elder statesman of finance, Alan Greenspan, has shaken the White House by declaring that the PRIME MOTIVE FOR THE WAR IN IRAQ WAS OIL.
In his long-awaited memoir, Greenspan, a Republican whose 18-year tenure as head of the US Federal Reserve was widely admired, will also deliver a stinging critique of President George W Bush’s economic policies.
However, it is his view on the motive for the 2003 Iraq invasion that is likely to provoke the most controversy. “I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil,” he says.
from:
timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/article2461214.ece
---
So many of us knew or surmised as much but whenever we tried to express this we were shouted down by the Bush backers claims, that we were full of hate, therefore could not see the whole picture... What Whole Picture was that? Oh yeah, the mayhem, torture, oil people getting richer and complete sorrow and grief. What a sad world Bush and his Neocons has produced for mankind. We need change. Let's hope we have all awakened or matured to realize that need.
Boston Legal dramatization On The USA Supreme Court
This is a short video clip that shows how the Supreme Court has become partisan during the long reign of the Republican Party.
A comic review of the supreme court can be found here:
http://movies.crooksandliars.com/TDS-Scalia.wmv
This dramatization in part, is based on a real event. To learn more about the
plight of a man accused of raping a child and is facing the death penalty, just
google news (or use your favorite search engine) Kennedy v. Louisiana and it will
bring up the many links regarding this case.
(A thinkingblue personal opinion) When Gore lost the ability to have a
recount in 2000 and the Supreme Court awarded the presidency to George W Bush, I knew exactly what was going to happen within this holiest of Courts. I knew, the great headway that was made to lessen human suffering would probably be overturned and that future supreme decisions would be handled by the judges, W. Bush would get to nominate to give the conservative ideology a court majority. It seems this de ja vu I felt was right on target. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out! The republican party has for 50 years had this as their goal. But I wished the hell I knew why?
